Conservation Area

53 hectare Conservation Area53 hectare Conservation Area

A 53 hectare Conservation Area has been established to preserve an area of ecological and archaeological significance.

Fronting Wollombi Brook and located near the ecologically sensitive area of Warkworth Sands Woodland, the Conservation Area will not be disturbed by mining.  The Conservation Area will be managed in accordance with the Conservation Area Management Plan developed in consultation with the aboriginal community and the Office of Environment and Heritage.

The Conservation Area will become an important part of our habitat corridors, linking the riparian vegetation of the Wollombi Brook through the Bulga Complex owned land to the Singleton Army Training Area.
